Event - Comic Relief 2009

13 March 2009

Friday 13th was a very special day at Clifton – it was Red Nose Day!

All week we had been raising money in lots of different ways. Tempus, the company who supply our computers, kindly donated a Nintendo DS Lite as a raffle prize, so all week we were selling raffle tickets. We also collected money in each class to 'Pie the Teacher'! It was £25 to pie the class teacher, £40 for Mrs Brown and £50 for Mrs Mitchell. 5C and 4S both managed to raise over £50 each so Mrs Mitchell and Mrs Brown both got pied!

On the day we also had a cake sale. Some of our lunchtime supervisors came in to decorate cakes and biscuits to sell and break time.

The children in Nursery also had their faces painted. Lots of children dressed up and wore something funny! We finished the day with a special assembly in which many teachers dressed up and performed a song or a dance.

We had a really great day, but the best thing of all was that we raised an amazing £1563 which we know will go to help many children all over the world.

These two boys raised over £66 between them for a sponsored silence.

Two of our teachers re-enact a popular TV advert for the assembly.

Look at our lovely cakes for sale! Thank you to our lunchtime supervisors and parents for helping to decorate and sell them.
