Event - Year 2's Eid Assembly

4 November 2011

Children from 2C confidently recited prayers as part of the assembly after being expertly coached by Mrs. Hussain.

Children from 2H used a wide variety of drama techniques including 'Freeze Frame' to bring to life and explain the importance of the Eid celebration, to Muslims. The children only had a very limited time to practice for the assembly having only returned to school, Monday after the Half Term Holiday.

With the help and support of their teachers, teaching assistants and many other adults from the school the children were able to confidently take part in two performances for the whole school to enjoy.

During the practices the children often commented on how much they enjoyed preparing for the performance.

Members of 2C explained what it feels like to perform Hajj in the style of a news interview. Children developed their speaking skills based on information shared with them by Mrs Hussain.

Pupils from 2S explained the five pillars of Islam. Finally, the whole of Year 2 sang a lively song about praying and going to the Masjid.
