Event - Eid and Christmas Fair

4 December 2009

This year we have decided to try and raise enough money to build a well for a school in Gambia, Africa.

Mae Winterton from the 'Schools for Gambia' charity visited us in November and told us all about the school in Gambia we would be raising money for. We knew that it would make a really big difference to lots of children and their families who live there.

Ms Bi thought it would be a really good idea to raise the money by having a school fair. Lots of staff and parents came to help and it was a really big success! There was so much to do!

There was a food stall and another one to buy cakes and juice. There was a great book stall with books, videos, DVDs and CDs. You could also have a game on our Nintendo Wii, have your face painted, visit Santa, have a go on the tombola, buy a wide range of craft items and bric-a-brac. We also had an amazing raffle; the top prize was £20 with lots of other great prizes.

It was a fantastic evening but the best news was that we raised £4,043. So, we would like to thank everyone for their hard work and kind donations.

If you would like to make a donation to our appeal or find out more, please ask to speak to Ms Bi or Mrs Allen.

A wonderful cake donated by The Pastry House. It didn't take long to sell the whole cake at £1 a slice!

Father Christmas and his special helper were kept busy all night!

We had so much bric-a-brac to sell.

We hoped to fill this well with all our pennies by the end of the night.

You could even have beautiful mehndi.

We didn't recognise our pupils after their face painting!

It was hard to keep up with the Wii!

The food and cake stalls were so busy.

There was so much lovely food to eat
