Event - 2C Visit the Hall of Memory

As part of the History topic on Remembrance Day, Year 2 visited the Hall of Memory.

The visit to the war memorial helped the children to understand that poppies are worn as a symbol of Remembrance Day and to help us remember the soldiers who died in the war.

Remembrance Day is on the 11th of November. It is a special day when we remember what happened in the past.

We took a picture of ourselves outside the Bullring Shopping Centre.		We passed the extremely busy German Market.
We arrived at the Hall of Memory. There are statues in honour of all the Forces.		We made a wreath of poppies to take to the Hall of Memory.
We were sad, remembering all the soldiers who had died in the war.		We sat on the stone steps near the wonderful fountain, near a statue.
