Event - Year 3 trip to Birmingham International Airport

12 May 2010

The topic in Year 3 this term has been 'Airports' so we decided to go and visit a real one! We took the bus, the train and finally the monorail to get into the airport.

Once we were there, we had lots of things to do. We conducted a survey on the escalator to see which people used the airport the most. We went on a photo trail where we had photographs on a sheet that we had to find the location of in the airport. Once we had found them, we had to plot them on our maps.

We had the chance to watch some planes taking off and we did some sketching. We also completed a bumper quiz across both terminal buildings, which was great fun.

At lunchtime we ate our food in a room set out like an aeroplane, with proper seats, seatbelts and lap trays!

We were very tired by the end of the day, so were relieved when a coach picked us up to take us straight back to school.
