Came on here to check what’s going on with class closures for my sister because of COVID and I remembered there was a guestbook which I wrote in back in 2009 when I left. It’s so crazy looking back and seeing how much the school has changed! It’s nice to see so many teachers still here since I was there, but also sad knowing that a few teachers I had have passed away. Made so many great memories in this school. Such an amazing school with amazing teachers. I miss it so much! Also, Hi to everyone from my class that I recognise names of in the comments!

I used to go to this school in the 80’s along with my older brother Sajaad Najeeb. Mr Tatton was our head teacher at the time and I had Mrs Waters as my teacher in year 4, 5 and 6. Lovely school 🙂

I went to this school, I got all 5’s on my sats. Then I went to a state grammer school. I went to King Edward’s VI Handworth for boys grammer school. I got all A* for my GCSE’s. Then I went to Joseph Chamberlain College, And I got all A* for my A Levels. Then I went to Oxford University. And completed my Bachelor degree’s in science. Then I got a master’s degree in science. Then I graduated with a doctorate degree in science. All this thanks to my very good start in life from Clifton Primary School. Thank you Clifton.

Hi, Just wanted to say a big thank you to all the staff on behalf of my kids. They really enjoyed watching all the messages from different staff. A very big thank you to Mrs Ahmed for saying she will be asking the parents if the kids are behaving. This year 5RS has enjoyed visiting the National Space Centre (NSC) in Leicester. They enjoyed the long lift called The Rocket Tower! Their favourite highlight this year was performing their Diwali assembly! They enjoyed the acting, singing and dancing!

I was at Clifton Road School from 1955 to 1960 with my brothers and sisters. We lived in Clifton Road. I sat next to a girl called Margaret Patterson who lived in Alfred St just of Ladypool Road. Happy memories, great school.

I live in the U.S. and am doing a lot of family research. I have an original graduation certificate for my great grandmother, Laura May Harper who graduated in 1912 from Clifton Road Girl’s School. She came to the U.S. in 1923 and went on to work for the British Embassy until her retirement.

Started Clifton in mid year 1 (2003) and finished in 2008 (6R- Miss Redheads class). Have to say it has changed a lot since with the new buildings. It has to be the best 5 years of my life. School looks to be doing very good too, with a very good website!

I started Clifton in 1998 and left in the year 2006, I am now a teaching assistant and would love to come back to clifton as support staff. my earliest memory is coming to nursery at the time my teacher was Mrs Harrison and Mr Tatton was our head teacher. clifton has become a huge school compared to how it was before it has come a long way its just full of life and colours. Congratulations your school is a credit to the staff. I attended the school from 1949 to 1955, Miss Prime was the infants headmistress she rang the school bell and we walked single file into school.

I attended Clifton Road Infants/Juniors from 4.1/2yrs old to 10yrs old, I am 71yrs old now. My Grandmother and Grandfather attended Clifton Road in the 1880’s it cost twopence a week then. I have happy memories of Clifton Road School, I am pleased to see it is still thriving, well done to all concerned.

I attended your School from 1962 to 1966 when we moved to Acocks Green. Headmistress was a Miss Reid and teachers Mr. Lewis and Miss Smith – wonderful memories.

I used to go to this school in the 70’s. I remember Mr Tatton was the head then. I read the list of teachers names from 1978 and recall almost all of them. Mr Hemstead was my final year teacher and Mrs Beckett my first year teacher. I recall Mrs Paddock died of polio not to long after I left. Some of my fondest memories are attending that school.

Hello, I like your website: am a teacher myself and have been reminiscing about the 1930s in Birmingham with my mum. My mother Margaret Parkes, aged 87 now, remembers her time at your school and being evacuated from there on Sept 1st 1939. She lived in Sparkbrook. Their mothers were told to pack them a little suitcase with a change of clothes, go home and come back in a couple of hours; when they returned the children had been sent off (by bus, to Somerset! she was on a farm with another 11 yr old girl called Iris Hammond). We still have the little brown suitcase with her initials on it (MC for Margaret Caudle) I wonder if you have any of the old records? Iris Hammond emigrated to Australia after the war. Mum married and stayed in B’ham working for Brown and Polson in Erdington. She and my father left B’ham in 1987 for Devon. She had 3 sisters who also went to your school I think: Rose, Betty and Joan Caudle. Best wishes.

Hello i am going to be a student at clifton school, after half term, i work with children, and i have been offered placement at Clifton Nursery. I am grateful it was my Primary school for a while and then i had to leave. I was evacuated from this schoolin in 1939. I was 7 and my sister Eileen was 9. We went to Coalville in Leicester. I am still in touch with the daughter of the people who took me in 74 years on. I was there for 5 years.
